Megamall sniffs, snuffs out Candyland

One of the joys of downtown St. Paul is the aroma of popcorn and caramel wafting from Candyland out onto Wabasha Street, but officials apparently have a different scents-ibility at the Mall of America.

Candyland owners Brenda and Doug Lamb were booted out of the Bloomington mall this week when, they say, a mall leasing agent said their products stink and refused to extend their lease.

After more than 10 years at the megamall -- they were among the original tenants -- the Lambs said they waited for months to get their lease renewal papers, but mall officials kept putting them off.

"We finally got a call back; he said they'd decided not to renew our lease," Brenda Lamb said. "We asked why and he said: 'Because of your smell, you stink.' We were shocked."

"We have a strong scent, I know that," she said. "But Cinnabon does, too."

I don't know why I thought that was funny, but in all seriousness, Cinnabon is totally rank.

Dan has a vice.
And it is the Gilmore Girls. I love it so much that I have no words to describe it. Well, now they are spinning it off, and ruining the good storyline they have going. If Jess is getting his own show, then Rory must be heading for some heartbreak which I just don't know if I can handle.

Kangaroos think they are so damn cool.

This image always makes me laugh. It was taken by my friend Susan when she visited what was apparently some smarmy kangaroo bachelor pad in Australia. I just thought I would share it with everyone. Don't really know why I think it's so funny, but I do.
