I've returned from New York, blistered and battered, but not really worse for the wear. I had one single solitary celebrity sighting: Robert DeNiro. Now, I'm not as shameless as Furry, so I was unable to snap a good picture of him, but he was strolling right at us in the middle of a quieter section of Central Park, and by the time I swung around to take a picture, he was quite far away. And so now he is no more than a blurry dot. But I know it was him, and I also know I was thisclose to bumping into the sumbitch. I think that's a pretty good celebrity sighting. Anyway, I did lots of other stuff besides scanning the crowds for movie stars, and I'll put up some pictures if I ever get around to it. As for right now, I'm catching up on some good ol' cable TV, which I discovered is not so common among NYC residents. The withdrawl shakes are finally subsiding, though. ::: posted by dan at 10:49 PM :: [ link ] :: (5) comments
5 previous comments: Speaking of cable TV, I saw an special/interview with the cast of Gilmore Girls tonight...I think it was on ABC Family. They were looking at past episodes etc., and I wondered if you had gone into convulsions as a result?? By Kiddo78, at 3:41 AM Nice picture of DeNiro dude! Why did you wait so long to take the picture? Did you think he was going to pull the old "Taxi Driver" thing on you or something? By Trekgeekscott, at 9:02 AM Nice sighting! But would a little shamelessness have killed you? By hot babe, at 10:39 AM It's wierd you mention that Gilmore Girls special, because I happened to catch it last night. It was disconcerting, because I would rather just imagine Lorelie Gilmore as a real person instead of a character played by Lauren Graham. It nearly shattered the delicate illusion of a Gilmore Girls reality that I would like to think really exists out there somewhere. As for the bad DeNiro pic: it wasn't until the moment I was passing him that I realized who he was, and I hesitated for a good 15 seconds about whether or not it would be worth it to take a picture of his back. Besides, hasn't he been known to beat up photographers? He seems pretty hardcore. I was a little fearful of him. By dan, at 1:56 PM He *is* one of the scarier celebs out there. I didn't have that same fear when I ran into Ryan Cabrera. He's so low on the totum poll that he was probably excited to have someone care enough to snap a photo of him.
