What's funny about this Scared of Santa site is that you gotta kinda sympathize with the wailing children, because some of these Santas are inarguably unfriendly in appearance, to say the least:
I never once enjoyed seeing Santa at the mall, not from afar, not up close, and certainly not while sitting on his lap.

It's always amusing to me when I see hysterically screaming children at the mall on Santa's lap with the parents always gushing, "Awww...isn't that cute?"
Yes, I suppose, if you find permanently-scarring emotional experiences "cute". Oh...and let's take photos as well so we can rehash the experience after you've sufficiently regained your faculties years later.

With 6 older siblings, I don't remember ever believing in Santa. In fact, I think I was the one that ruined it for everyone else in 3rd grade. I knew it would upset them but I couldn't let them go on believing the lie.
I also knew that the guy we went to see in the Santa suit was the kind-hearted town drunk and I was scared but I really wanted that candy.

Lots of days I'd still rather have his job than mine. At least he has a good excuse for having to deal with whiney brats all day, what with talking to children & all. I just talk to job candidates who are just as whiney and needy.
