Best. Episode. Ever.

Not only is Rory's "no-strings" college sluttiness starting to blossom into overdrive, but Queen Bee Emily is back, and a wedding reception erupts into drunken awkwardness in what must have been the best Gilmore Girls episode in a long time.

Entertainment Weekly had an article this week about how the show was almost cancelled last year after their viewership dropped 20% and some head honcho at the WB just didn't appreciate the show's appeal or understand how to market it (which I assume is how we got the lesbian kiss Gilmore-Girls-Gone-Wild promos last year). But there is a new head honcho at the WB, viewership is back, and the show's creator says that she wants to keep the show going at least through Rory's college graduation and that she has the series finale already plotted out in her head, right down to the last two words. If they are anywhere near as good as the last two words on last night's episode, then we gots nothing to worry about.

"You and me... we're done." That was a gut-punch, but it was awesome.

BEST EPISODE EVER! (This year, so far) The whole episode just shows how similar each woman in the Gilmore household is to each other. Especially Rory acting like her mother and the end scene with Lorelai channeling her mother...great stuff

I think the best line from the episode, and quite possibly ever, was when Emily said that when a woman gives birth to a crack baby you don't give her a puppy. Good thing I had Tivo, because I had to pause after that line just so I could regain my composure and continue to watch. That line could have been funny from anyone, but coming out of Emily's mouth, it was classic!!

I also liked the Luke and Christopher fight and that Lorelai stood behind Luke, but I'm worried that the preview made it sound like Luke is breaking up with her. That can't happen!!

...yeah, but did anybody else find it completely out of character for Richard & Emily to renew their vows? They're such total traditionalists that it really just doesn't seem like something they would do.

And was the string quartet the one that plays with Sam Phillips? We thought it looked like them, as far as we could remember from her Toronto concert last fall.

(I know I should really go find a GG forum for this kind of thing, but I like it better here)

Sometimes I feel that by virtue of the fact that I will tape the episode and watch it three times in a row, I should likewise receive preview tapes of future episodes because I can't wait to see the following week's stuff.

It was a remarkable episode with some killer lines of dialogue, spectacular acting and, yes, a hot and lusty Rory pairing. About time she got hot and lusty with someone. I mean really hot and lusty and driven by curiousity moreso than emotions and history and loneliness. And I want a suit just like Rory's, a statement I'm making now for no particular reason other than I could go on and on about details that I loved in last night's episode.

I hope GG continues through Rory's graduation; I think the WB would be foolish to can it in favor of another version of "The Mountain."

For now, I'll leave with this:

Would you give the mother of a crackbaby a puppy?

I forgot about that crack baby/puppy comment. That was awesome.

I didn't notice the orchestra, though. I was too busy watching Rory go all slutsville.

Sorry Maggie, I didn't notice you'd already mentioned the crackbaby-puppy thing. I got way ahead of myself and don't deserve a puppy.

This episode was REALLY GOOD. There's so much more drama this season and I'm loving it. Oh yeah Rory's in full college sluttiness which is good b/c it'll make it awkward when they run it on ABC Family. I loved the drama, and the drunk Christopher, and the Loralei/Emily confrontation.

Did I ever mention that I met Kelly Bishop two years ago? I was instantly in awe b/c I love the show and she told me I "have the legs of a dancer." and that's my only brush with fame unless you count meeting Joe Piscipoe.

I swear I felt the gut punch myself. I had to keeping shushing Mr. pdx so I could hear Christopher tip the secret out. But I did get the full effect of Lorelei's knock out. SO glad I taped this one.

Jen - fabu! Not only a celeb sighting but a celeb compliment! You should wear short skirts forever!

Wicked... just wicked! My husband walked into the room for the last scene and was like "whoa, I've seen mad like that, you NEVER want to be around mad like that" So yes, he was impressed.

And yes, the preview shows them breaking up next week, but previews often LIE (anyone recall the ER preview where they totally made it look like Abbie was shot? Otherwise known as the "Karen stops watching ER 5 years to late* preview) Anyway, they are all about manipulation and I for one am on pins and needles. Than and we get our taxes done that night.

Ok, my one thing... why did Rory let Christopher wander around all drunk? I mean she got pissed at him when she ASSUMED he was going after mom, when he was talking to her he couldn't had made it clearer that he was actully about to strike. But, then again, she was all horny and stuff...
And why didn't Lorili stand up for Luke when her parents were treating him like shit? Or at least do a whole pulling him aside and saying "yeah, I know they suck." No, she just left him standing there. Wonderful and VERY frustrating episode.

OK, you people are killing me. I haven't watched last nights episode & all of these comments are making me so jealous! I don't care if I have a million pages to read for class, I'm watching GG tonight. No ifs, ands or buts about it. I can't wait to see slutty Rori in action & hear the crack/puppy comment from Emily... Oh & the gut wrenching last line?? What's that about. Sooooo excited.

I finally watched GG Wed night, and while I feared it wouldn't live up to the hype, no fears. It was holy crap so good. I watched the last scene- starting with Lorelei finding Rory in make-out mode to the end- 3 times. And it just got better each time.

I'm glad to see that others appreciated the crack baby/puppy comment as much as I did. I tried to tell someone at work about it, and she just didn't seem to find it nearly as funny as I did. Maybe it's that she doesn't watch GG, so she wasn't able to get the full effect of Emily having said it. Maybe I failed in my delivery. Maybe she just doesn't understand good humor. Mmmmm, Good Humor, ice cream... Okay, it's getting close to lunch and things are making me think of food.

I agree that the previews are often totally different than what really happens, but it doesn't stop me from being nervous about it.

Did anyone else think that Logan wasn't as cute as they remembered him from other episodes? When the showed him at the wedding, I didn't even notice him at first.

Someone commented that the new writer of of the show has the end finalized down to the last two words. Though I hate for it to end if the last two words we hear on the show are "I Do" I can say goodbye to one of the best shows ever written! JoAnn
