These are my work shoes. They are most uncomfortable shoes on the planet: Eight hours of working in these shoes causes severe back strain and almost crippling arch and heel pains. I have many pairs of more comfortable dress shoes that I could wear, but the big difference is that this pair conveniently slips on, and I don't even have to bend down to get the job done. I would rather endure eight hours of foot torture than spend an extra three minutes in the morning having to deal with something as archaic and frustrating as shoelaces. I am a lazy bastard. ::: posted by dan at 2:13 PM :: [ link ] :: (10) comments

By BigDubb, at 9:25 PM These slip on and are comfortable and will last forever and you can walk a million miles in them. I have three pairs. http://www.dansko.com/ Kristin has a pair in shiny lipstick red, but I do not recommend this for you. http://www.fluevog.com also has some hot shoes, but they might be a little bit too wild for you. By lynn, at 10:19 PM Ummm. They look a little like girl shoes. Maybe that's why they hurt. By Colleen, at 10:27 PM They are actually just plain ol' ankle high slip-on man boots. They are high quality in construction, but low quality in comfort. Apparently, Lynn wants me to buy clogs. The funny thing is, I totally would if I thought I would ever hear the end of it. Those clogs looks ultra-comfy. By dan, at 10:36 PM I just may never speak to you again if you wear a clog By Stacy, at 11:00 PM I agree with Dubb; inflicting permanent harm on yourself because of a pair of uncomfortable shoes you could easily replace is not a good idea. Get clogs and tell everyone who gives you a hard time that you're going to culinary school on the weekends, and you have to practice your clog skills. By Angela, at 7:58 AM Women have been shoving their feet into pointy toed high heels that cause bunions & back pain forever. It's your turn. Beauty is pain, my friend. Beauty is pain. By hot babe, at 9:07 AM They look really narrow. Maybe you just need the same shoes but in a wider size. hmmmm...double wide...pure comfort in shoes... By lynne, at 9:17 AM I agree with Lynne. A wider, more square toe might help the cramping of the foot. By katie, at 10:40 AM Dude, for real. They are your feet and you are the one in pain. Screw all the people who wanna give you sh*t for wearing comfortable, easy to install shoes. I made the switch several years ago and couldn't be happier with the choice. Here are my best picks for replacing your bad shoes (all in black since that seems to be the goal). Merrell World Access Slip-on Merrell Jungle Moc Slip-on New Balance 991 (Hint: just leave them lightly-laced and they function well as slip-ons) And of course, the King of the Comfort Hill: Birkenstocks Good luck with your shoe search. d.m.
