Suddenly I'm afraid of my basement.

A couple months ago I was all giddy to find a copy of the soundtrack to The Shining on MP3. It's been out-of-print forever, and honestly I'm not sure why I wanted it in the first place because I can't imagine ever listening to it, but finding it was the highpoint of my week. The problem is that I accidently put the MP3 files into my audio player's watchlist folder, which means my Audio Player automatically added it to my music library. So the other night I was alone and working late in the basement with my entire MP3 music library on automatic shuffle when this song came on (right click to download the MP3). It was unsettling to say the least.

"Come and play with us, Danny."

Update: Molly and Jen tipped me off of this pic of the Shining Twins, all growned up:

Takes a little bit of the terror out of it. I can once again enter the basement. Although that forehead could still cause nightmares.

Dude, that totally creeps me out. I think I saw The Shining for the first time when I was about 8 years old and they played it on regular TV and I couldn't believe my parents let me see it! That was the toned down version for crying out loud! I felt so sorry for that poor kid and his Big Wheel. Also, I know it was the fashion back in the day, but don't the little girl's dresses look like they're on backwards?

I would of run straight up the stairs and hid under the covers if that happened to me. Of course I would never be in the basement late at night to start with. Total chicken.

I'm such a fraidey cat - I would never have a basement. B/c if I had a basement, someone could break in w/out me hearing it. And those creepy little girls could fit through a basement window quite easily, thank you.

I played that clip and, I swear to god, my cat went totally satanic.

There was a picture, of those twins as adults, in Jane magazine a couple years ago...they still looked creepy. You should try and find it.

Thanks a lot, Dan. Now I can't do my laundry.

A radiohead "song" once woke me from a deep, deep sleep, sending me into a panic stricken and frightfully confusing moment where I thought I was getting run over by a truck. I have hated radiohead ever since. Them jerks.

Those little girls have always freaked me out. Pair that with the scary-ass music you posted & I'm not going in my basement for the rest of the week. They do look a lot less frightening grown up, though.

I couldn't play the clip, but I bet you could play the whole movie on that chick's forehead.
Oooo, mean, eh?
