Huh? What?

Apparently Hotmail wants to increase security by implementing an anti-automation feature that even the most intelligent human would have a hard time deciphering. I hate these things. Take a look at this image and give it your best guess: what is a letter and what is a squiggle? It's a total crapshoot. All this just to send a damned email.

I know the answer. First person to get it right wins.

That is exactly why I no longer have a hotmail account. I had to deal with that crap. You can actually hear the code if you click the "I can't read this stupid shit" link, and you will hear some office gal screaming the code into the microphone. I guess it's meant for people who cannot see, but then how do they know where to find the link?? Oh, just more questions, no answers.

5CMTANY? I think the letters are in a consistent serif font, but I still get your point. There has to be a more user-friendly way to prevent spam.

Sorry, i meant to include the 9: 5CMT9ANY. But that's what anonymous said. But hey, he/she can't win because they're anonymous.

"Scum Trainy"? Didn't they open for Har Mar in Duluth?

By Blogger S&J, at 5:05 PM

I'm not dead, I was just being anonymous. Comment 3 is mine.

Paul wins. There's no prize except the pride he must feel, but a winner is a winner.

ack! i hate that dialog!

I had one of those the other day when trying to reload MSN Messenger. My husband and I sat there for 5 minutes going "Um, is that a 1? an I? Just a random squizzle? Ugh.

Is it "The end is nigh, aand lo the beast came forth and his name was du-buh-ya"?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:30 PM

I kept getting these things, too, when I was checking mail on my Hotmail account. I couldn't even understand the letters when I tried clicking the "I can't read this" link -- the sound was distorted and I couldn't tell if the bitch was saying B or D, P or V. Grr.

Whatever it is, it reads a bit risque.

By Anonymous DarkCloud, at 9:36 PM

I noticed that too. I almost pointed it out but didn't want to seem like the pervert.

that's the worst one of those i've seen. Hotmail is getting worse as time goes on. Gmail has yet to annoy me.
