Last night was the Halloween party. K-Mack said my Prince costume ended up looking more like Johnny Depp in The Pirates of the Caribbean than the '80s icon, and she was right, but I still think I got the point across: I was most proud of the lace socks I found to match my ensemble: The only real problem is that I didn't bother to practice any Prince dance moves or facial expressions in advance, so even though there are about a thousand pictures of me, I always look the same. See all the pics. But be forewarned that I took way too many, and some of them may be a tad bit... risque. ::: posted by dan at 7:57 PM :: [ link ] :: (30) comments
30 previous comments: Too bad I don't live in Minnesota. That was one badass Halloween party. By , at 9:07 PM Dance homo dance! perfect costume for you! By , at 9:30 PM I suggest you change your Halloween History picture to IMG_7789.jpg in Set Two. Much better representation of the fun you looked to have with your friends. And, it's almost a full body shot of all that purple & lace. By Rob, at 9:32 PM Great costume. You pulled Prince off to a T! Looks like it was a fun bash. So you were what 5 minutes from me and couldn't stop by and say hey... and so I could get some pics of you and post them on my blog. Oh and I'm soooooo gonna show mom the jello shots pic. She'll be so impressed. j/k By Colleen, at 9:44 PM Oh oh you know who you should go as next year!?! Mr. T! Cuz he got you fired and all. By Colleen, at 9:55 PM You and Kris had the best costumes! Did you scream auoooaaa a few times to add to the costume choice? By Stacy, at 11:14 PM I would have used a "walker" since Prince got a hip replacement last week (well according to Drudge anyway) By , at 11:15 PM You know it's a good party when people end up on the floor. By elcynic, at 1:49 AM OMG, Dan is Prince! Or is Prince really Dan in disguise? Bet our party with 20 or so 15 and 16 year olds was louder than yours. I had to retreat to the den and ear plugs to retain my sanity. PS Nice shot of your feet. You know Uncle Ray is somewhat of an expert on feet since he has two. By billthecatlives, at 4:40 AM I love that it looks like you stayed in brooding Prince character the whole time! Hilarious! Oh, and the socks really made the outfit. By lynne, at 5:53 AM My friend Heather was in K-Mack's costume as well. We also had an identical man dressed as swiss miss girl at our party. I think I was at the doppelganger of your party on Saturday! The costume is awesome. Nice socks. By Biglug, at 9:12 AM good work. though i must admit i see a slight ben stiller likeness, what with zoolander's "blue steel" and dodgeball's handlebar moustache. By callmekidd, at 11:01 AM two mouths? http://www.planetdan.net/pics/halloween05/1/pages/IMG_7646.htm By hubs, at 11:18 AM That was fabulous. By Elle Marie, at 12:18 PM Wow. I couldn't stop myself from viewing each and every photo . . . well almost each and every one. What a train wreck! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I also have to admit being a wee bit disappointed by the Prince get up. I think you built it up a bit too much. It was good, but not up to your Oompa Loompa standards. By , at 2:45 PM Yeah being Prince ain't as easy as it looks. Or at least it's definitely not as easy as I thought it would be. But for someone who hates to dress up for Halloween, I'm pretty proud of myself. By dan, at 3:18 PM that settles it...we're moving to minnesota. what the heck are you guys eating out of those tubes? By Honey Bunny, at 5:42 PM Fun times! I was at a kind of weird party that night - somewhere in Uptown, I think... By Kiddo78, at 5:47 PM You definitely look more Prince than Keith Richar........ err, Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean. Great costume. Here are some shots from our party, and there's a striking young lady dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow in there.... http://www.aural-fixation.com/personal/halloween.html http://www.aural-fixation.com/personal/halloween2.html Cheers, Ryan By , at 9:11 PM And Ron Jeremy apparently. Damn, we need a professional photographer at our parties, too. Those pics are awesome. By dan, at 9:43 PM Forget about it. The costumes and pics from your party take theirs by a landslide. T-Bone is a brave soul for allowing all of you crazies to party at his (her?) house! By , at 8:17 AM Wow, Ryan, those photographs are gorgeous. Not to take anything away from Dan's! Yours are great too, just a different kind of great. I love both. Thanks for sharing, have a banana. By , at 8:42 AM Glazed eyes are cool. Where do you get those jello shots? Where do you get the tubes? By , at 11:16 AM Props to the girl who looked like Amber Waves...is that the look she was going for? Well, if it wasn't, she looked EX-actly like Julianne Moore in "Boogie Nights"-fur coat, quasi-red hair, and red dress. Love it. And, I'm a girl. If only there was a Dirk Diggler in attendance... By , at 6:43 PM Was the one girl in the fur coat/red dress supposed to be Amber Waves from "Boogie Nights"? If so, props to her...LOVE it! I'm a chick, by the way, and I *heart* that movie. By , at 6:46 PM The picture in the 2nd set, with the bug-eyed stare while a guy chugs Jeigermeister in the background, is hilarious. By , at 6:47 PM You really think you look the same in all the pix?...... oh, wait, you're right!!!! You know,Dan, I'm just a little ways over in Wisconsin, can I get an invite to your bash next year? It could become the Fantasy Fest of the tundra lands.... I gotta go, Carlo By Carlo, at 9:06 PM Dan - your halloween costumes are only good if you have a red plastic cup in your hand... By molly, at 11:21 PM Those were awesome! By Monkey, at 12:09 AM Dan is a Prince God. But what the hell was T-Bone supposed to be? By , at 5:48 PM < Back to Blog |
