Penile Park

Aerial photo illuminates the beautiful grandeur of the land below...

This aerial photo taken from the Polk County assessor?s Web page shows the city of Des Moines? detention basin at 2617 Easton Blvd. The basin, constructed about two years ago, helps prevent flooding, according to Des Moines City Engineer Jeb Brewer. [FULL STORY] [FP]

I think the writers of the article were funny when they subtitled it:

City design with a vast difference

Try as I might, I just couldn't come up with a better pun than that.

Completely unrelated, I'm also fascinated by this optical illusion.

I cannot believe how long it took me to get this. But then it's Friday and I've got mind numbing brain drain from work. And it's just me.

Funny

That illusion is AWESOME!

I didn't think anything could be funny at 8 am on a Saturday morning, but you proved me wrong...

Pee pee jokes are funny.

Being from Des Moines, I couldn't be more proud of one of the best puns ever. Probably lost on most Register readers, though. We like it when our landmarks contain subconscious imagery; if you believe the Absolut reference in the EMC building was unintentional. http://www.visionwall.com/gallery/pictures/emc.jpg

that optical illusion is the shit...

I know there are many sites on the web devoted entirely to logos that look like wee wees. I think you may have even blogged about it, Dan.

So, I just have to know, because my husband has the most immature humor of anyone I know, and he thought I was being immature when I noticed that the logo of this Turkish hotel chain where I had the pleasure to stay last week, looked like a sad, tired, and possibly infected knob.

http://www.dedemanhotels.com/

It took me a long time to decide that, okay, maybe it *is* and eagle flying into a cloud, but maybe.... Maybe it's not just me??? Help me out here. Does anyone see this?

Somewhere in Des Moines there are two writers high-fiving each other for getting that past the editors.

If paper copies exist, they should be framed & sold on ebay.
