Animated Friday (For the Birds Edition)!

I happen to think that most birds are nothing more than winged vermin, but I guess on occasion they can be pretty. From far away. And if they aren't chirping incessantly or dive-bombing at my head. But I don't actually harbor any ill will toward the poor creatures, as this series of animated GIFs might imply:

Golf is for the birds.

Baseball is for the birds.

Melodramatic ceremonies are for the birds.

Yeah, I saw the ball land but what happened to the bird..was it just completely obliterated?

This was a super Animated Friday - I laughed out loud with the last 2, the first one you could see coming. Keep up the good work!

The famous Randy Johnson pitch! Yes - the obliterated bird was definitely real. He was pitching in a pre-season game against the Giants. The bird was a dove, of all things, and it dropped dead just below the cloud of feathers. The official call from the umpire was "no pitch". They have no official rule for what happens if a pitch hits an animal (if a batted ball hits one, it's in-play).
