Great Minds Think Alike

The other day at Subway I was crabby about something unrelated when I noticed how my Sandwich Artist was placing the slices of cheese on my six-incher. They were all overlapping and stupid and it totally defeated the point of having the cheese slices cut into triangular shapes in the first place. The idiocy of it all made me inexplicably angry, but I bit my tongue because I didn't want to be the crazy guy at the fast food restaurant, like that lady who called 911 when Burger King wouldn't make her sandwich her way.

Anyway, I swallowed my anger (literally and figuratively) until I got home and decided to design a diagram to illustrate my complaint more efficiently, but a quick Google search revealed that someone has beat me to the punch:

At least now I know that I'm not alone in my crusade.

And yes, I had too much time on my hands that day and I'm feeling much better now.

To be fair, I used to work at Subway and that is how they train you to do it.

Yeah, they don't train you like that and then bitch if trying to evenly space the cheese in the up and down triangle way.. because it takes to long. I agree though, and hey, why not make them square or rectangle? who knows?

I saw that comic a couple months ago and totally agree with both it and you, dan. I hate that they do that. I like every bite of my sandwich to have the same proportions of meat/cheese/veggie, and the overlapping triangles ruin it. Why do they even make them in triangles in the first place?

I have never worked at subway, but do know why sub shops do that. The cheese is cut like that so (in theory) the little points stick out of the end of the bred and make the sandwich more attractive. (Like thi http://subway-coupons.com/images/subway-1.jpgs) If you line the cheese up so that it makes long triangles [] it does not look "pretty." See?

Oh yeah, I also hate how they put a line of mayo (yes, I'm a mayo fan) down the middle of the opened sandwich. Which means, when it's closed, only the one side of the sandwich will have mayo on it. STUPIDS! Ugh!!!
