One of the main reasons I never want kids is that their so helpless. They can't do a darned thing for themselves. They need constant assistance. For example... For another example... For yet another example... Okay, maybe that last one was unnecessary, but honestly, who's got the time? ::: posted by dan at 12:02 PM :: [ link ] :: (9) comments

By , at 3:30 PM I can go you one better. I have kids of my own who I thought were adorable when they were little. But now, I can't STAND being around little kids. I find them all whiny and obnoxious. What kind of grandparent will I be? UGH By , at 6:17 PM Their? I'm guessing you meant they're... I bet kids learn that in elementary school. ;) By , at 12:34 PM No Dan, that last one was totally necessary. It paints a more complete picture. Thank you. Kids? I'm out. By , at 6:41 PM How on earth does that kid of the slide wind up suspended in that totally bizarre position? Managing to fall off the side of the slide isn't weird enough for you, kid? You also have to manage to balance on your neck while doing the splits? Eff you. By , at 11:27 AM I love animated gif Friday. Why did that man tackle the wrestler? Overprotective? By me, at 5:22 PM The right thing to do is fake it until you really feel it. Nobody actually likes "OPK's." (Other People's Kids) This includes nieces and nephews and your best friends' kids. You do develop a genuine fondness over the years because the kids really are pretty funny, which is nice. Kids are assholes around their own parents. If the parents aren't there, then you might like the kids better, because they put on their manners and age-appropriate maturity. That is why coaching isn't so bad. I would never tackle like the guy in the last gif, though. gosh. ugly slice of life there, Dan. I've noticed grandmothers seem to have a natural affinity for their own DAUGHTER's kids - but that's about it. Grandfathers seem to be kind of dickish about everything - like priests. -toddbee By , at 8:27 AM Hey, Sister Mary Grammarian (a.k.a. Anonymous #3): You guess wrong. That "their" is correct English usage. Anonymous #1 is referring to the attribute of cuteness as it belongs to kids. Kids: I wish they weren't so sticky and mobile. And babies with their vacant goo-goo eyes...shiver. By , at 5:45 PM I think grammar police was referring to my original post, which does indeed have the improper use of the word their. I'm not going to change it though. I'm going to leave it up as a reminder, and as a badge of failure. I'm better than that. By dan, at 3:11 PM < Back to Blog |
