Chemical Proof Clothing
An ascot of any quality should be able to save your life in the event of a terrorist chemical attack or a SARS outbreak. Or at least that's the attitude that this clothing company has adopted. It's about time.

Wallgreens will give you $5.00 if they fail to provide a receipt for your purchase, but who knew the same concept could also get you $9,700 worth of doin' it. From Wired magazine:

Brothel Bust
If a tree falls in the forest and there is nobody around, does it make a sound? If a brothel charges a man for sex he does not remember having, does he have to pay the bill? A German court says no -- not if the establishment fails to provide an itemized receipt. The court ordered a bordello in Kaarst to reimburse a man charged around 9,000 euros ($9,700) for services the man was too drunk to remember ordering. "The brothel failed to provide concrete documentation of the prices and services rendered," said a court spokesman in Duesseldorf on Friday. The brothel owner testified that the man had ordered the "full program."

For $9,700 the "full program" better include getting your house painted.

Dodging a bullet...
My biggest fear the last few months was dying in a terrorist attack before getting to hear the new Radiohead CD, which isn't supposed to be released for two more months. Today it was leaked to the internet here: http://www.idioteque.it/multimedia/audio.htm. It's the best thing I've ever heard. Now if I can just survive until they release the Matrix sequels I can die a happy man.
